How To Prepare Before Cosmetic Treatments: An Easy Checklist For Your Clients.

Skin preparation is crucial before invasive procedures.
It directly affects the end result and safety of the treatments!
Invasive procedures such as chemical peels and injections need to be taken more seriously in terms of preparation.
Disregarding those precautions can cause complications and slow the healing process.

1. Skin diagnostics.
Before every treatment there is a diagnostic test that must be carried.
It will help determine skin’s current condition and ease up the procedure plan.
Diagnostics includes:
- Skin type (dry, oily, combination skin)
- Skin barrier condition
- Sensitivity
- Acne and wrinkles presence

2. Exfoliation and skin cleansing importance.
Reducing dead skin cells will elevate the effectiveness of any procedure. It includes:

5. Anti - inflammatory preparation.
If your patient struggles with acne it’s important to minimize irritation before the procedure . You can prescribe:
1. Azelaic acid and retinoids. Retinoids are really helpful for cell regeneration and azelaic acid reduces hyperpigmentation. Research shows that azelaic acid not only kills bacteria but also increases anti-inflammatory responses.
2. Niacinamide or green tea face masks. This components helps calm the skin and redness. It’s really good before pretty irritating procedure.
6. Skin hydratation.
Hydrated nourished skin is prone to faster regeneration. Make sure to stay hydrated and don’t forget moisturize.
7. Aggressive treatments limitation 1-2 weeks before.
Exfoliation. It’s good to exfoliate your skin, but prior to invasive treatment, face scrubs can make skin surface more sensitive.

8. Mineral and vitamin supplements.
Couple weeks prior to procedure, your client can add some supplements to increase skin regenerative activity.
